Yes. The Livestreams provide a LIVE practical Hands On Cooking Class hosted by Vanessa Greenwood.

Due to the large amount of LIVE in person cookalongs, I will help TY students become passionate and confident cooks and develop a lifelong skill.

This online cookery course is designed for TY students. Even with no cooking knowledge at all, YOU will also be able to complete the course. We can achieve alot with simple kitchen equipment.

The course includes over 30 winning family recipes with video tutorials each TY can watch ON DEMAND in advance of each live cook along so they can familiarise themselves with the recipe(s). The cost includes access to the online course and scheduled LIVESTREAMS (see LIVE dates on checkout page).

During each live zoom Cookalong we cook a main course and dessert in 90 minutes. It is all doable since the ingredients are weighed out before the Live class starts. Some students can cook one dish if they prefer.

Once you book you will receive a login to access the online course and then the recipes and ZOOM link for the LIVE Cook Along.

The Live classes are a fun way to gain Hands On practical cooking skills.  The Online Course includes all the recipes and step by step video tutorials incase they miss a class.

Certificates are granted based on attendance at a minimum number of LIVE Cook Alongs (For students who wish to gain a 13 week certificate, additional weeks can be completed using the self paced, on demand course content).  TY students take pictures of the dishes they cook during the course.  Once attendance and pictures are assessed, a certificate may be granted.

Gaisce Students: Here is how it works: 

I have many TY Cooks who I give a 13 week cert to after successful completion of the course.  In order for me to give them this Cert, they have to attend most of the LIVE classes and also submit pictures of the completed recipes. Here is a brief explanation of how it works:

The next TY course features 11 'LIVE Cookalongs' (=20 recipes). I'll be outlining the certificate requirements for prospective 13 Week Gaisce students in advance of the course starting.

For students who request a '13 Week Practical Skills Certificate' - for Gaisce. If they don't have a minimum 13 recipes photographed as my requirement for them to get the 'Gaisce' Cert, they are able to submit a few extra recipes which they can choose from the online course.  Some of the Gaisce approved courses are only 1 hour per week over 13 weeks (many are only self led), so the TY Cooking course, being 90mins live (+30 mins mise en place ingredient preparation) exceeds the Gaisce guidelines.

The Transition Year Cooking Course enables inter schools involvement, so it can be booked by INDIVIDUAL TY students from any school.
